Comic booking it

Clint was not one to frequent comic shops. In fact, he usually stayed as far away from them as possible--not because, like the other Avengers, he was afraid he might be recognized, but because he was pretty certain he wouldn't be, and that got a little old after a while.

But Coulson had been moping because he couldn't get in to get his Captain America comics for a couple months, and Clint didn't like to see Coulson moping, so he decided to stop by and pick them up for the agent. He'd probably just drop them on his desk when Coulson wasn't around, but at least he knew it would make the man smile.

"Maybe we should. We can get stuff for my room?"

"We absolutely can."

[mediumdrip]

"Okay! Let's do that then?"

[from_a_distance]

"All right. Let's do that," Clint agrees with a smile. "I gotta get shoes first."

Blaine agrees. They head back to the room so that both of them can get ready to go. Blaine brushes his teeth too to get the sugar from breakfast off of them.

Clint gets his shoes and things quickly and then brushes his teeth only because Blaine does.

"Ready to go?"

Blaine straightens his bow tie and checks his hair once last time before nodding. "Yes," he says. "We can get posters right? And maybe a cool lamp?"

"Posters, a lamp, anything you need, and maybe a couple things you don't," Clint agrees.

[mediumdrip]

"Why would I get things I don't need?"

[from_a_distance]

"Well, do you need posters?"

[mediumdrip]

"Oh... I guess not..." He frowns, thinking that that means he shouldn't get them.

[from_a_distance]

"But you want them, right? 'Cause they'll make the room more comfortable, more homey?"

[mediumdrip]

"Yeah," Blaine admitted. Now he seemed uncertain if Clint was saying he could have them or not.

[from_a_distance]

He shrugs. "So that's why we'll get some things you don't need. Because they make you comfortable."

[mediumdrip]

"Oh. Is that a 'something I want' versus 'something I need' kind of thing?"

[from_a_distance]

"Yeah. We can even get some things just because they're fun. You're allowed to do that."

[mediumdrip]

"Oh. Okay." Blaine smiles then, cheering up.

[from_a_distance]

"Ready to go, then?"

[mediumdrip]

Blaine nods then. "Yeah! Come on. It will be fun."

[from_a_distance]

"Well, all right." He grins and heads for the elevator to take them down to the garage.

Blaine follows him. He doesn't say anything else. Instead, he lets himself plan out what he wants to do with his room.

Clint takes him down to his car and takes him to the nearest department store so they can get everything they need.

Blaine picks out a set that's done in greens and blues. He picks out things that are for a boy a little older than he is. He avoids cartoon characters in favor of blocked out colors. He does like interestingly shaped things though, and picks out a fun science themed statue that uses physics to accomplish movement. He ends up spending a lot of money, mostly because his tastes are pretty expensive. He just doesn't realize how expensive.

Clint doesn't mention the expense. He's not strapped for cash, really. SHIELD pays him well. He's amused by Blaine's choices more than anything.

When they're done Blaine can't wait to get back to his room so that he can organize it.
