Open Birthday Post

For most of Clint's life, his birthday has not been a very big deal to just about anybody. When he was really little, there were cupcakes, and sometimes games and once (he thinks) friends, but that didn't last long, and the group home was not big on birthdays, and in the circus nobody really cared, and since then...well, as you get older, birthdays just stop being as big of a deal.

At least, that's what he always tells himself. And that's why he never tells anybody when his birthday is. Doesn't matter anyway. It's just another year.

Bucky is good about figuring things out, he's good a remember dates too. He's not a terrible cook but the cake is lopsided which he tried make up for with extra layers of bright purple frosting and ridiculously green candy sprinkles shaped like dinosaurs.

They where the only ones he could find okay.

There is an envelope sitting next to the cake with a birthday card inside, and well two passes to Disneyland, neither of them had ever been. He hadn't be around for Bucky, and well Clint never got the chance. He figured it'd be a break and some much needed fun for both of them.

Clint is sure as hell not expecting to see a cake when he comes home. He had deliberately not told Bucky that his birthday was coming up, and he's not exactly sure how Bucky found out.

That doesn't stop him smiling despite himself at the sight of it.

"...what is this?"

Bucky grins at Clint "It's called a cake." He teases a little, "I assumed they're still a custom on birthdays." He laughs lighting the too candles he put on it.

"I mean I was out of it for awhile, but I doubt that much has changed, pal." He winks a little.

"Yeah, haha," Clint says dryly, still fighting his smile. "But why's it here?"

"Your birthday." He says easily smiling at the man. "Babe, did you really think I wouldn't find out?" He says coming over and giving Clint a small kiss.

"Now blow out your candles, make a wish and open your card." He laughs.

"You know, I...don't really do birthdays," he protests, but he kisses Bucky back, curling an arm around him. "You didn't have to do anything."

"You're right, I didn't have too, I wanted to." He says easily. "You're important too me, Clint, and birthdays should be fun." He says hugging the blond a little.

"You gonna blow 'em out and make a wish before the wax gets all over the goodness I baked for you?" He teases a little.

"I woulda been happy with a birthday fuck," he says with a smirk, moving over to the cake.

"This is what you call goodness?" he teases, but he leans over to blow out the candles anyway.

"Just because theirs cake on the menu doesn't mean a birthday fuck has been taken off." He says easily. "Hey just because it came out a little lopsided, doesn't mean it's gonna taste bad, pal." He grins giving Clint a slight poke.

He picks up the card and hands it to Clint grinning a little. "Seriously though, happy birthday."

"I'm sure it's delicious," Clint concedes.

He leans into Bucky a little as he takes he card. There's a brief hesitation before he opens it, and he turns to look at Bucky with a small, hesitant, sincere smile. "Thanks, babe."

Buck grins and pulls Clint in for a small kiss. "Anything for you." But then he arches a brow wondering if Clint saw the passes or if he spaced and forgot to put them in.

"There was something other then the card in there... or did I space and forget to put them in?" He asked voice warm and amused more then anything as he takes a bit of purple frosting and taps Clint's nose with a metal finger.

"Haven't even opened it yet," Clint says, his smile growing as he kissed Bucky again. "Give me a chance."

He wrinkles his nose, laughing, and pulls back to catch Bucky's hand and lick the frosting from it.

"I might be a little excited okay, I like birthdays." He laughs a little as Clint licks his finger. "I have left over frosting in the bowl." He teases with an eyebrow waggle waiting for Clint to open the card.

Clint grins as he lets go of Bucky's hand, leaning against him as he opens the card. He reads the card first and then looks at the passes. His eyebrows go up.

"Are you fucking kidding?"

"No not kidding ... we have leave... neither of us have been." He says easily biting his lip a little grinning like a food. "Hell it wasn't even around when... well you know." He shrugs a little.

Clint is biting back his own grin. He turns to kiss Bucky again, arms curling around his shoulders. "Seriously?"

"Seriously, hotel fucking booked and everything." He grins a little arms wrapping around Clint's waist. "We're going to the happiest fucking place on earth." He laughs warm and easy.

"You are such a dork," Clint says, but he's definitely grinning now, and he leans in to kiss Bucky yet again.

"Says the man with the bluray collection." Bucky teases back, returning the kiss easily. "How many people think they can they they saw Steam Boat Willie at the pictures?" He's says making fun of himself a little.

"Just you, old man," Clint teases in return. "But you can tell me all about it."

[not_a_commie]

"Well sonnie, I was 10 and sound was still a newfangled thing." He says with a mock old man voice. "You gonna have cake or do you have other plans for your birthday, oh our flight is the day after tomorrow he adds, unless you wanna fly us."

"Yes, Dad," Clint says with a sage nod before smirking.

"Somehow I don't think SHIELD is gonna let us borrow a jet for this."

Bucky's lips twitch at the title and he's not going to delve into why he likes that his hands slide a little lower along Clint's back. "Good boy." He quips back before he can even think about it.

"Flying coach it is." He laughs a little, airport security should be fun, at lest he has the damper.

Clint doesn't think anything of it until Bucky responds, and then his eyes darken a little, and a shiver runs down his spine and he's leaning into Bucky.

"Couldn't spring for first class?" he asks, his voice a little rough.

Bucky licks his lips and lets out a rough laugh and shakes his head, "Got the fancy hotel, had to cut back somewhere... remember I'm not used to have actual money to spend...I'm sure we can stay entertained on the flight." He hands move a little lower to grope Clint a bit.

"So good birthday so far?" He asks Clint kissing him again, slow and easy.
