Open Birthday Post

For most of Clint's life, his birthday has not been a very big deal to just about anybody. When he was really little, there were cupcakes, and sometimes games and once (he thinks) friends, but that didn't last long, and the group home was not big on birthdays, and in the circus nobody really cared, and since then...well, as you get older, birthdays just stop being as big of a deal.

At least, that's what he always tells himself. And that's why he never tells anybody when his birthday is. Doesn't matter anyway. It's just another year.

Clint follows him out, dropping onto the couch as well, stretched out with his head in Bucky's lap. "So how are we entertaining ourselves until then?"

Metal fingers start to pet through Clint's hairs and he lets out a thoughtful hum.

"We could veg out and watch TV... unless you have have some ideas of what to do with 35 minutes." He laughs

Clint makes a soft noise of contentment. "Vegging out sounds good."

And it seems like that has very little chance of leading to more attempt at talking about what happened.

"We don't get very much veg time." He nods fingers still moving through Clint's hair. "What do you wanna watch?" He asks.

He's not avoiding talking about what happened further, just giving it a rest until they are fed and packing.

"Whatever's on," Clint murmurs, tension leaking from him with each stroke of Bucky's fingers.

Bucky stops on something called Freaky Eaters and arches a brow at the screen, the announcer saying something about the woman who drinks 40 cokes a day...

Bucky smiles watching the tension melt out of Clint keeping up the easy touches. "Having a good birthday?" He asks with a small grin, sometimes the archer reminded him of a large house cat instead of a hawk.

"Yeah," Clint affirms smiling up at him. "So far it's pretty damn good."

Especially considering he hadn't been expecting anything at all.

"Good." He smiles easily, he keeps up the fingers in Clint's hair until the buzzer on the door goes off.

He runs to the bedroom and pulls on a t-shirt and grabs his wallet. He pays for the pizza and the cheesy bread. Coming over and dropping it onto the coffee table.

"What do you want to drink?"

"Beer?" Clint asks, pulling himself up to get plates, or at least napkins.

Bucky nods and pulls a six pack out of the fridge and puts it on the coffee table with the pizza. He pops two open with metal fingers, and flops back down taking a long pull from the bottle.

Clint takes the other bottle from him and settles himself against Bucky as he takes a sip.

"Thanks."

"Anytime babe." He grins a little taking a pull from his own drink. "So what do we need to pick up tomorrow before we head to the happiest place on earth?" He smirks a little.

"Sunscreen?" Clint suggests with a smile. "And we need to find somebody to watch Lucky."

[not_a_commie]

"Lucky's taken care off, dropping him off at Steve's tomorrow night." He says easily. "Gonna come home a fat dog." He laughs ruffling the dogs fur.

"Then...cameras and swim trunks?" He grins, leaning down to rub behind Lucky's ears.

[not_a_commie]

"Okay sunblock, cameras, swim trunks... clothes too wear in the park... not so much the hotel room." He winks and laughs a little.

"That's what vacations are for, right?" Clint asks around a mouthful of pizza. "Non-stop activities during the day, non-stop sex at night?"

[not_a_commie]

Bucky laughs and wrinkles his nose. "Yeah, and talking with your mouthful." He teases warmly pealing off a piece of pepperoni and offering it to Lucky.

"But yeah we are going to need a vacation from the vacation..." He gives Clint a wink.

Clint nudges his ribs with an elbow. "We'll just take an extra day off after and just sleep."

[not_a_commie]

"Being in bed with you is never just sleeping." He laughs nudging Clint back... "To be far I don't do much to stop it." He grins giving Clint a kiss to the cheek.

"I could control myself. If I wanted to." He grins.

[not_a_commie]

"Pleas never want to." He snorts a little finishing his slice of pizza and beer.

The rest of the night goes easily and so does the shopping the next day.

"Okay so I lied, about flying coach... because I don't want to deal with the TSA and my arm." He laughs a little... he had to pull a few strings to get them around security, but it wasn't that hard.

Clint raises his eyebrows. "You got us first-class tickets?"

He is so not used to flying first class.

[not_a_commie]

"Sprung for the whole package.... you know how much back pay and hazard pay they give you when you where technically a POW for 70 years." He teases easily to brush a few things like cost off.

"Anyway I've never flown first class... kind of used to cargo holds and pilot seats..." He grins a little.

[from_a_distance]

"Yeah, me too," Clint says with a boyish grin. "I mean...and I've never done first-class."

He's not sure how he feels about a birthday present so extravagant.
