Comic booking it

Clint was not one to frequent comic shops. In fact, he usually stayed as far away from them as possible--not because, like the other Avengers, he was afraid he might be recognized, but because he was pretty certain he wouldn't be, and that got a little old after a while.

But Coulson had been moping because he couldn't get in to get his Captain America comics for a couple months, and Clint didn't like to see Coulson moping, so he decided to stop by and pick them up for the agent. He'd probably just drop them on his desk when Coulson wasn't around, but at least he knew it would make the man smile.

Blaine nods and folds his hand. He does a quick, normal prayer to give thanks for the meal, his new friend Clint and to ask that his dad comes home before his dinner is cold. Then he finally starts to eat. As with almost everything else, he's very neat and perfectly mannered.

Clint watches him in amusement, idly picking at his own food, hunched over his bowl.

"You're a pretty good kind, you know."

Blaine frowns a bit and shakes his head. "No," he says. "I'm not."

"Yeah, you really are."

He smiles. "Look, I know your dad probably says that you disappoint him, but that's his problem. It's not yours."

Blaine shook his head and focused on the food. He ate quietly.

"Hey," Clint says gently. "Hey, look at me."

Blaine looks up at Clint.

"How come you think you're not a good kid?"

[mediumdrip]

"Because I'm not," Blaine says. "I can't be."

"Why not?"

[mediumdrip]

"I can't tell you."

[from_a_distance]

"Why can't you tell me?"

[mediumdrip]

"Because you'll hate me."

[from_a_distance]

Clint shakes his head, perfectly serious. "Blaine, there is nothing you could tell me that would make me hate you."

"I.... I can't."

[from_a_distance]

"Blaine, I promise. Whatever it is, I won't hate you. And if you tell me, you'll feel better."

Blaine was quiet for a moment. "I think I like boys. The way I'm supposed to like girl." He folds in on himself after he says it, sure that Clint is going to react with anger.

Clint laughs softly in surprise, shaking his head. "Wanna know a secret?" he asks, leaning forward a little.

"Okay..." Blaine said, totally uncertain what the laughter meant. He didn't think this was funny at all.

"So do I," he says in a mock-whisper.

"I guess it's not such a secret. But yeah. That doesn't make you a bad kid, Blaine."

Blaine frowned a bit. "My dad says only perverts like other boys. Are you a pervert?"

[from_a_distance]

Clint frowns as well at that. "No, I'm not, and your dad is wrong about that. Some of the best people I know like other boys."

"Are you sure?"

[from_a_distance]

"Yeah, I'm sure. And you know what else? Even Captain America thinks so."

[mediumdrip]

"How would you know?" Blaine asks. "He doesn't say so in his comics and I haven't heard him talk about it on the tv."
